Dreamy Backyard Wedding Photography: Andrew + Morgan

As a good majority of our couples do, Morgan and Andrew found out about us from Instagram (Yay!). I’ll never forget the first inquiry I received from Morgan… every single sentence she wrote sounded so energetic, excited and ended with an exclamation point! I knew right then that she was my soul sister. If you haven’t been able to tell, the way I write often sounds very excited! But I just cant help, I am an excited person! Especially when it comes to talking about weddings or sharing about our couples. Periods and commas are just way too boring for me- I need even my writing to sound exciting so it matches my voice!

After a year of knowing Andrew and Morgan, I don’t think I have ever seen them NOT smiling. They have such a profound joy running deep within them and they smile and laugh constantly. I am so moved thinking about their joyfulness as it is my life’s goal to genuinely be and appear more joyful. In every area of my life. These two are such a beautiful example of that, and I feel like I could sit at their feet and learn from them. :)

When their wedding day arrived, all of their details were what backyard wedding dreams are made of. Each and every flower, place setting, and chair was placed perfectly thanks to their amazing wedding planner Shannon with Sassy Soirees and OH SO TALENTED florist Sarah with Sarah’s Garden Style. The way they decorated and celebrated was exactly how I would dream of having a romantic backyard wedding. It was perfect and I swear we heard each and every one of their guests gushing about it. I could go on and on, but instead I will let the images below tell you the story of their beautiful day….

Morgan and Andrew, thank you for being SUCH a blessing to us and everyone around you with your unwavering spirit of joyfulness and your deep commitment to one another. We adore you both. -A&EJ

Royal Palms Wedding Photography: Brik + Alli

The first moment I heard Alli’s sweet voice on the phone with her thick Texas accent, I knew I loved her. She used the word “y’all” probably 30 times in that 30 minutes and I smiled from ear to ear every time I heard it. I have yet to meet a Texan that I didn’t love. I am so enthralled by their family values, their hospitality, and the way they treat everyone they meet with such genuine kindness. Alli had already made up her mind that she was hiring us for her wedding before we even spoke on the phone, and so I felt like I was chatting and giggling with an old friend that day as she shared her love story with me and we talked through all the details.

The engagement session was our first time meeting these two in person, and I have to admit, Brik and Alli were made for each other. They are PERFECT opposites, with just enough in common to make a beautiful friendship, but enough differences to add some spice and excitement to their relationship. We loved watching Alli roll her eyes every time Brik cracked a joke, and the way Brik looked at Alli with pride in his eyes as he stood back and watched her as we took portraits of her. He doesn’t say much to express his feelings in public, but his eyes speak VOLUMES of his love for Alli.

When the wedding day came, it was exactly as we imagined it would be. The day ran smoothly and joyfully thanks to our friend Lara with Sealed With A Kiss Events, and we loved each and every friend and family member (and their adorable Texan accents) just as much as we thought we would. The details were classy and beautiful, but the FEEL of the event was just what Alli hoped for- couple focused, family oriented, relational and personal. The decor was stunning, but PEOPLE matter most, and their wedding day truly reflected that. It was perfect.

Congrats you two! We are so thankful to know you and to have been there for SUCH a special day in your lives!! -A&EJ

Secret Garden Wedding Photography: Austin + Janea

I remember the first time Janea reached out to us about shooting her wedding day well over a year ago. She had not even chosen a wedding venue yet but she was so excited to get in touch with us and talk about the possibly of us documenting her day. Reading her words on her initial wedding inquiry to us made me feel more loved and valued than just about any words I have ever read before and I had no idea who she was then! ;) She said “We are still in the very prelimary planning stages, but we’ve absolutely fallen in love with your photos and artistic style on your blog and can’t stop looking at them. You’ve actually inspired our whole list of venues so far.” I jumped to email Janea back after reading that, and I remember telling Andrew that day that we absolutely HAD to shoot their wedding, whatever it took, no questions asked. Because people like Austin and Janea inspire us. They see the good in everyone before the bad, they see the beauty in the world before the turmoil, and they genuinely love and accept everyone they meet exactly as they are. They are just GOOD people and they are SO easy to love.

The wedding day flowed beautifully thanks to Janea’s calm demeanor and joyfulness, her friends and family’s encouragement and excitement, and everything our dear friend Cara with A Day To Cherish did to go above and beyond for these two as she does for all of her couples- making the day flawless. I sobbed when Janea saw her dad for the first time and he cried as he held his baby girl in his arms, I was so moved when Austin and Janea spoke their vows with a deep assurance in their voices, and I felt such a joy in my soul as I watched these two dance the night away. They are another perfect example of why we are passionate about this job- it’s not even about the photography to us. While we do love photography, it’s about the PEOPLE. It’s about relationship. And it’s about deep meaning and undeniable joyfulness. We are so, so lucky to get to capture weddings… :) -EJ

Country Club at DC Ranch Wedding Photography: Vince + Carmen

As I type the words to this post, I am feeling very emotional. Call it hormones, maybe. But I just cannot believe that Carmen and Vince’s wedding has already come and gone. They hired us more than a year ago and we have spent the last year emailing and texting about every little thing. I have watched all of their exciting moments over the last year on social media. We have cheered them on from afar as Carmen opened an amazing fitness gym with her sister, and as Vince’s luxury home building business has grown. We have watched their parties and birthdays and holiday celebrations and I swear we have seen their relationship grow closer and closer and their love for each other deepen. We have mailed each other letters, sent each other encouraging texts, and I feel like these two have become family to us. We just love them so much!

When the wedding day arrived last weekend, we were over the moon! As soon as we walked into Carmen’s bridal suite, we were greeted by a joyful screech and big hugs. It’s moments like that where we are immediately filled with a deep contentment- knowing that what we do is so important and so rewarding. The day was perfect… warm and sticky… but perfect nonetheless. A huge smile never left Carmen’s face. Vince was calm and such a peaceful presence throughout the day, their friends and guests were so genuine and happy- it was TRULY a wonderful celebration!

Vince and Carmen, thank you for choosing us and for being some of the most genuine people we have ever met. Thank you for loving each other so deeply and so joyfully. Thank you for being the definition of our DREAM clients. Thank you for being such a light to everyone around you. Cheers to new beginnings!! -A&EJ

El Chorro Wedding Photography: Tyler + Jenna

It all started when Andrew and I were capturing another wedding this past spring at El Chorro (one of our absolute favorite wedding venues!). Tyler and Jenna were touring the property and started to imagine it for their own wedding day. Andrew ran into them outside as he was prepping his camera gear, they hit it off immediately, and Jenna asked Andrew to take a photo on her phone of them at the ceremony site to represent where they planned to say “I do” months later. By the time I arrived at El Chorro, they were already gone, we were back to work, and the day moved on. Much to my surprise, I received an email several weeks later from their amazing wedding planner Andrea Leslie Weddings who proclaimed that we made an impression on Tyler and Jenna and they wanted to hire us to capture their own wedding day. We were OVER THE MOON excited! I was able to meet Jenna at the tail end of her food tasting later that month and immediately LOVED her. I love her for so many reasons but the one that stands out the most to me is her joyful spirit. It is one thing to have a joyful smile and to laugh a lot, but Jenna is different- her SPIRIT is joyful. Her eyes are joyful. Her body language is joyful. Everything inside of her is joyful. She is the kind of person that you want and NEED to be around constantly. Her joy is contagious and she is one of the most incredibly genuine women I have ever met. Every time I left an interaction with her, I left feeling challenged-how can I add more joyfulness to my own life? How can I be at such peace like she is and have a more joyful spirit??

The day of their engagement session came, and I had the pleasure of meeting Tyler for the first time then. They trusted our vision for their engagement session, drove 2.5 hours to meet us, and we had such a blast together capturing what is surely one of our most favorite engagement sessions! We didn’t think we could love anyone more than Jenna, but Tyler proved to be just as amazing. When He speaks you can feel an authentic love coming out of him, and he adores the daylights out of Jenna!

We really feel like we scored the lottery with these two. A chance meeting turned into such a profound wedding day- where we were often speechless and found ourselves just wanting to wrap these two in a hug all day long. Jenna and Tyler- your steadfast love for each other, your faith in God, and the deep joyfulness that radiants from you both is and has been such a blessing to us. You are truly a light in this world and we are so thankful to know you both! -A&EJ
