I remember the first time Janea reached out to us about shooting her wedding day well over a year ago. She had not even chosen a wedding venue yet but she was so excited to get in touch with us and talk about the possibly of us documenting her day. Reading her words on her initial wedding inquiry to us made me feel more loved and valued than just about any words I have ever read before and I had no idea who she was then! 😉 She said “We are still in the very prelimary planning stages, but we’ve absolutely fallen in love with your photos and artistic style on your blog and can’t stop looking at them. You’ve actually inspired our whole list of venues so far.” I jumped to email Janea back after reading that, and I remember telling Andrew that day that we absolutely HAD to shoot their wedding, whatever it took, no questions asked. Because people like Austin and Janea inspire us. They see the good in everyone before the bad, they see the beauty in the world before the turmoil, and they genuinely love and accept everyone they meet exactly as they are. They are just GOOD people and they are SO easy to love.

The wedding day flowed beautifully thanks to Janea’s calm demeanor and joyfulness, her friends and family’s encouragement and excitement, and everything our dear friend Cara with A Day To Cherish did to go above and beyond for these two as she does for all of her couples- making the day flawless. I sobbed when Janea saw her dad for the first time and he cried as he held his baby girl in his arms, I was so moved when Austin and Janea spoke their vows with a deep assurance in their voices, and I felt such a joy in my soul as I watched these two dance the night away. They are another perfect example of why we are passionate about this job- it’s not even about the photography to us. While we do love photography, it’s about the PEOPLE. It’s about relationship. And it’s about deep meaning and undeniable joyfulness. We are so, so lucky to get to capture weddings… 🙂 -EJ
