Happy December, friends!
We cannot believe that our fall wedding season has already come and gone! This year has flown by so incredibly fast and spring just around the corner!
We knew when we first met with David and Ally that their wedding would be the PERFECT close to our year. Not only was their wedding breathtaking and so unique, but they are two are the most amazing people we have ever met. They are kind, compassionate, loving, joyful, patient, understanding… the list goes on and on! We feel SO lucky to know them and to have documented such an amazing day in their lives… we still play it all over and over again in our minds! Just for fun, here is little about their engagement story written by Ally, OH and don’t forget to scroll to the bottom to check out the amazing wedding professionals who made David + Ally’s day run flawlessly!
“After morning Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle with David and my family…my Sunday started out to be just like any other. Usually we have brunch after mass, but David played it off like he was busy after Mass and offered to take me to dinner that night instead. Of course it was fine with me.
We went to dinner at Hillstone and it was lovely. He asked if I wanted to grab drinks at the Biltmore after dinner and I readily agreed. We hopped in the car and started heading towards his house. Until I said, “David, aren’t we going to the Biltmore for drinks?” He said “oops, I forgot.” He turned around and we headed to the resort.
We wandered around the Biltmore and he informs me he got a room for the night. I was surprised! Still not expecting a thing. He leads me to our room and inside our dog Paddie is there to greet us. I give Paddie my typical hugs, and noticed that attached to his neck is a black straw ring…
The first night David and I met, he proposed to me with a ring that he made out of a black straw. That night I remember thinking this is either fate or madness…now I know…
As soon as I spotted the ring, David was down on one knee proposing with a real ring. Of course I said yes!!!
After champagne, tears, and before making any calls…we made our way to the bar for a celebratory drink. To my surprise, David planned to have my whole family there to greet us along with his sister too, waiting to congratulate us. It was magical. Fireworks went off over the Biltmore as we walked back to our room with our whole crew to keep the celebration going. It was a very special evening!”
