El Chorro Wedding Photography: Alex + Katie

It’s almost the weekend! 10 more days until Christmas- are you as excited as we are?? Typically we take the month of December off work but this year we booked 5 amazing weddings in December. While it’s been a month full of work, it truly has been magical! There is just something about December- something about this time of year that makes people happier, that makes weddings more joyful and celebratory, and that makes dance parties that much bigger. Not to mention all of the beautiful wintery white weddings we have been photographing- it has all been SO wonderful!

I have to start this post by saying- we have never seen a dance party as big as Alex and Katie’s before. Maybe it was that The Instant Classics truly rocked the place (like they always do) but I believe it was also a combination of the incredible people that Alex and Katie choose to surround themselves with. It was a crowd ready for celebrating! A crowd that truly understood the meaning of marriage and how special it was that they were invited that day. A crowd that laughed so naturally and cheered anytime they had the chance. I’ve said it before but I truly believe you can tell who a person is by the people they surround themselves with. There was so much genuine love and undeniable excitement on Alex and Katie’s wedding day, that even if you didn’t know them, you would know deep down that they were truly incredible people.

My absolute favorite parts of their day included all the natural in-between moments: The look on Katie’s mothers face as she was zipping up Katie’s dress, the smile on Katie’s father’s face as he watched us taking pictures and walked up to congratulate his daughter and new son, the way Alex teared up as he watched his bride walking town the aisle towards him, the way Alex and Katie laughed as they tried to figure out how to pose with their Beer Burro, and the way Katie walked into the bridal suite during the reception, hugged her wedding planner and announced to us both “I am having SOOO much fun!” It was one special moment after another and full of so much emotion- which is our FAVORITE kind of wedding day!

Congratulations Alex & Katie- thank you for being such a light to everyone around you, and thank you for inviting us to play a role in such a PERFECT day! Cheers to Marriage!! -A&EJ
