El Chorro Wedding Photography: Scott + Carly

I should first start this post by shouting from the rooftops “Happy Mother’s Day!” I have wanted to post this blog post all week and it has seemed nearly impossible as we have been so sick over here. And even today I am on the couch with a stomach bug, but I absolutely could not wait any longer for Carly and Scott to see a glimpse of their beautiful wedding day!

Andrew and I have been anticipating this day for over a year as Carly is a brilliant artist (CLEMENTINE STUDIO) and one of the most laid back and REAL people we have ever met. We knew her wedding was going to be unique and become a favorite of ours. When we met Scott at their engagement session several months ago, I don’t know that we have ever laughed so much! We clicked with them instantly, they were on board with our crazy photo ideas, and by the time the sun set that day, we did not want our time with them to end! They are the type of people that others are naturally drawn to- they are content and happy and full of life and adventure. They have fun together and include everyone else in their laughter, they treat each other with kindness and so much respect…we just love them!!

I will let these pictures tell the story of their day better than I could in words, but I do have to say- Andrew and I absolutely loved every moment of the day, every member of their stellar wedding vendor team, every intimate moment and boisterous laugh that we witnessed… but above all- we LOVE the way these two diligently and joyfully love each other. Enjoy! -EJ

El Chorro Wedding Photography: Blake + Brenda

It’s Friday! And we are headed out the door to capture two weddings this weekend, but I could not leave without posting this wedding, so a quick blog post it is today!

Brenda hired us to be her wedding photographers a full 14 months before her wedding, so we have been anticipating this beautiful day for a long time! When I first met with Brenda, I remember thinking that one big word stood out to me about her: Genuine. She was so real about her life plans, and the way she wanted her wedding to go. If you know me at all, you know that authenticity is a BIG value of mine, so Brenda immediately fit perfectly into our “dream bride” category and it was easy to fall in love with her. I was captivated by her smile then and the joy in her eyes, and I could not wait to meet the man that she blushed about! When we finally met Blake, he was everything she described and more!

When the wedding day arrived last week, it was everything Blake and Brenda hoped for! Their desire all along was to create a day focused around their love for each other. They did not want a formal seated dinner and place cards, they didn’t want a wedding cake or to stick to old wedding traditions. They wanted their guests to feel valued and like family all day long. They hoped they would spend most of their time connecting with each other. They truly achieved that desire- It was a wedding full of conversation, laughter, and connection as their guests bounced around from dance floor to patio, to fireplace, to the lounge seating, and to gelato… Everyone felt at home and at peace as they celebrated Blake and Brenda’s beautiful love. It was the PERFECT day and as always, we were SO honored to be chosen to document it all! Keep scrolling to see more… ;) -A&EJ

Happy Wednesday, friends! Typically EmilyJade writes all of our blog posts but I did not want to wait for her to get into the office tomorrow to post this. So here I am… not a writer by nature, but hoping to bless Harold and Allison with my words as their love story is and their wedding day was nothing short of perfect.

After more than 8 years of capturing the biggest day in our couple’s lives, it still never fails to put a smile on our faces to behold their joy when they see each other for the first time. There’s something so amazing about that moment. I often look over to see my wife wiping tears from her eyes. It’s a powerful moment. For Harold and Allison, it was on the stone bridge, where their wedding day started ‘together’. Before that moment, it was many little moments of getting ready separately and thinking of each other. After that moment, though, it stopped being his day or her day and became ‘their’ day; ‘their’ time together and ‘their’ hands that were holding each other and ‘their’ smiles as together they walked into the next chapter of their lives.

For Harold and Allison, I imagine that their wedding day might have been a big joyful blur. From the moment they woke to the moment they ran through all their loved ones holding sparklers and celebrating, it’s impossible to truly take it ALL in. There was no break between seeing each other on the stone bridge, to enjoying the company of their wedding party, to walking down the aisle, to dancing the night away and finally to leaving in a whirlwind of excited wedding guests. But our true passion is in capturing the story, so that in case our couples missed something, they will see it here. Harold and Allison, here is your wedding day told through our eyes; it was beautiful and precious and endearing and heartfelt and so much more. We feel blessed to know you both… Enjoy! -A
